A sequel to A Season for Tending, I found this one much easier to get into than the first one
I love the exploration of Rhoda's gift of foresight and intuition. That is unusual in Christian fiction and it's refreshing here, especially in regards to Rhoda's sister deceased sister, Emma. Rhoda is called before her home congregation because of her intuition and Samuel's interference, but she learns an important lesson in having faith in God and in his timing.
As they move to Maine and begin restoring an old apple orchard, the Byler/King family drama is going strong and when Jacob's past returns and pulls him away from Rhoda with no explanation, they wonder if their relationship is strong enough to survive their separation. I really didn't like Sandra and was definitely resentful of her selfish intrusion.
As a sequel to A Season for Tending, the book can stand alone, but is much richer if read in order because of the back history. I am curious as to what will happen with Rhoda and Jacob's relationship and I'm really curious about the Englisch connection with Bob and Camilla.
